Susan King  

Brief Bio   

I was born and raised in Kentucky. I graduated from University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Art. After college I worked for Byron Temple Pottery in Lambertville, New Jersey. Moved to Las Cruces New Mexico and obtained M.A. in Art at New Mexico State University. After inviting Judy Chicago to speak at my school I traveled with 2 friends to Los Angeles to be part of the experimental Feminist Studio Workshop at the Woman’s Building. Stayed in Los Angeles and began making Artist’s Books at the Women’s Graphic Center. Founded Paradise Press and opened my own studio in West L.A. Returned to Kentucky part time in the 1990s, and moved back in 2003.
